Five Years in Five Minutes
Derick and I celebrated five years of marriage last month and here is a rundown of things I have learned:
Love does grow deeper with time, even with a more developed understanding of a spouse's idiosyncrasies and personal hygeine.
It is alright to go to bed mad, because sometimes you are just tired.
Which, leads me to... Never pick an obvious fight when you are running on three hours of sleep, that were spent at the edge of a child's bed, with the smell of vomit lingering on your shirt.
It is alright to eat dessert before dinner, because dinner might collapse into chaos, then complete anarchy, and you may never get to dessert.
Somehow in a family, with all the craziness, I have been able to accomplish things I could not even wrap my head around as a single person.
I really did marry superman and a good mechanic.
I am sure I learned more, but Ian is climbing on the table....
Here's to another five!
